June Newsletter from The Healthy Home
    Electropollution in the news!
    June 2005

    red poppy

Welcome to our first regular monthly newsletter from the Healthy Home. I have done news emails before but this is the first time I have gained full mastery over my technology so that I can offer a smart looking presentation of the news that I regularly gather and be able to present some of the many photos that I take and store on my wonderful Apple Mac (I love it!!!)

Some of you will be reading this in the UK where I obviously spend most of my time and organise the majority of my events but I do have many book readers and friends all over the world. Whilst my events in the UK won't be so interesting I will endeavour to make the ideas of global interest.

Times Power lines link to cancer makes the headlines
Scientists say findings are statistically significant

Friday June 3rd was a significant day as this was the first time, after over 30 years of research, that the government finally admitted that living near power lines can cause cancer. You may think you already know this but this is the first time ever that the UK Government has said this! A report published in the BMA Journal was reviewed in most newspapers and on BBC News 24 they interviewed the report author Dr Gerald Draper of Oxford University's Childhood Cancer Research Group. The bottom line is that out of the largest study ever conducted of 29,000 children born near power lines it was found that those born within 200 metres of the lines were 70% more likely to suffer from leukaemia. Further away at 600 metres the risks were still there with children being 23% more likely to suffer the disease. If you review the articles you will pick up on confusion: "Scientists puzzled" says The Times while in the Daily Mail Dr Draper is quoted as saying that even though the results were statistically significant "It may not be the effect of power lines at all". Even though children growing up near high-voltage lines have a much higher chance of getting cancer, The Telegraph quotes Dr Draper saying "People should not panic". What does this mean? It seems that only five extra children a year will get leukaemia from living near a power line. Only five! Gina using meter Gina Lazenby on TV

Friday night saw me hit the small screen in an episode of Housebusters on Channel 5. Although I filmed this in February 2004 they only gave me an hour's notice of its screening so no time to tell anyone in advance! The idea is that three professionals "compete" by going round the client's house without the client present and have to guess what the problems are. We all picked up on different aspects of her problems but the client can only choose one, but that's TV for you. Lesley, the client, chose the flamboyant, flame-haired camp psychic (who wouldn't!). When I did my tour round I surveyed her bedroom as part of my Healthy Home Checklist and could tell the occupant was not sleeping well. I used my EMF meter to register the electromagntic fields coming from her bedside table. They were extremely high: the reading was at least 20 times higher than desirable. She had a TV in her bedroom, switched off but plugged in and on stand-by; an electric clock radio on the bedside table; plus she kept her mobile phone next to her pillow. Even though she did not like my strong recommendation to clutter clear the bedroom (she said "most of that clutter is my life!") she did concede that I looked like I had lots of energy ("she does look alive and vibrant and full of energy, all the things I am not actually"). REd cabbage What's in the bottom of your fridge?
Living PiMag water creates a pleasant surprise!

Well I am sure you're not really interested in what is in the bottom of mine but I have to tell you that I did find something VERY exciting! Usually what falls to the bottom of the vegetable drawer really isn't worth eating is it? Well, I found a lone end of a red cabbage last weekend which surprisingly had grown a new shoot - another little cabbage growing out of it!! The reason for this unexpected expression of new life was because the cabbage had been sitting in PiMag water, spilled out from my bag of stored lettuce. PiMag water is ordinary tap water that has been re- structured with magnetic field and other technologies to recreate 'living water' which is more life-enhancing and super-absorbable by the body. As well as drinking and cooking with it, I use it for all my cut flowers, houseplants, sprouted seeds & greenhouse vegetables. Also my cat sneaks up and drinks any spare glass she can find (prior to my taking delivery of a PiMag system Poppy never drank any water in the house at all!). I definitely notice a difference in my own hydration levels, the water is much easier to drink and I can confirm that my flowers can last for many weeks but I have never witnessed such activity in the bottom of my fridge. For more details about the PiMag system or to order one for your own kitchen, click below.
