I received this email on International Very Good Looking Damn Smart Woman's Day
Good motto to live by ...
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!"

NEW BOOK: 'Message from Mother: Gather the Women, Save the World'
By Jean Shinoda Bolen
I just got this email a few minutes ago from Carol Hansen Grey who says it is profoundly powerful. She says "I know this book will speak to your soul. I have just finished reading an advance copy from beginning to end in just two days and can honestly say that this book is a clarion call to every woman (and man) who cares about creating a sustainable, peaceful and harmonious planet ".

Women's events this September
From Gina Lazenby
|
|
|
|
As I was preparing the September edition of the
Healthy Home newsletter I became aware of several
events this month - just for women - so I have
collected them
together here and thought I would quickly whizz them
round my contact list. If you are a man receiving
this then do please consider any women friends you
can pass
this on to.
In brief, I am hosting a Wellness Retreat in my
healthy home in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales (we
are right in the middle of the blackberry season!);
there is a talk on
Harmonious Homes next Thursday lunch; the Brahma
Kumaris have some more events for women leaders and
for those in need of
spiritual nourishment; and a new network is being
formed to champion women's rights.
Read on and keep in touch.

Women's Wellness Retreat Sept 10-11
Here we all are dancing on the terrace overlooking the valley
I have held two of these in my newly extended "healthy
home" this summer and they were wonderful. Two lovely
groups of women came together in our very special
venue in the Yorkshire Dales to share, learn and be
invigorated. The last scheduled Wellness Retreat
this year
will be next weekend on Sat-Sun September 10-11. If
you feel like a weekend of nurturing, renewal and
learning key feng shui tips then book yourself in
for one of the last few places. In addition, Rose
Goodenough, the manager for the Brahma Kumaris
centre in Glasgow will be joining us to lead
meditations and spiritual discussions.
Feedback from
participants: JH said "I have changed my attitude
to my health and I particularly expanded my
understanding of frequencies and how everything is
connected. It is making a difference to how I am
launching my new business." And BB said: It was a
really fantastic and empowering weekend and the
timing was quite pivotal for me. I had been on a
journey of change for some time and this weekend
reinforced my sense of being on the right road. I
found the place very beautiful and comforting, the
people lovely and the whole process enriching. I
felt very positive when I came
away and the biggest
result has been a huge improvement in my career.".
Watch out for dates for a Women's Wisdom Weekend
later this winter.

Talk in London on Harmonious Homes
Kensington & Chelsea Women's Club
Next week on Thursday September 8th I will be
speaking at a lunchtime event hosted by the
Kensington & Chelsea Women's Club. It is particularly
exciting for me to be sharing this platform with
Sister Jayanti of the Brahma Kumaris (BK)s. Some of
you may have met her when she translated for Dadi
Janki at the 'Be The Change' conference and at our
Women's day with Dadi Janki in May. Recently I have
given a couple of talks on 'The Sacred Home' for the
BK centres in Glasgow and Brighton. In these talks
I have been drawing together ideas which help people to
create a home that not only adds to their physical
wellness but also supports their spiritual
nourishment. Creating sacred space within the home
also allows us to create it in ourselves. Sister Jayanti
will lead a beautiful meditation and talk about
harmony within while I, with my colleague Davina wil
talk about the home environment. You don't need to
be a member of this club; Susan the organiser has
extended an invitation to readers of this
newsletter. Bring a girlfriend. 11.30am for 12 noon
til 1/1.30pm

Leadership retreat with the Brahma Kumaris
The Inner Journey
The Brahma Kumaris sponsor and organise many
incredible events. They have created an event for
women leaders and networkers on September 23-25 at their
Global Retreat centre. You won't find details on
their website as it is an invitation-only event with
Sister Jayanti and myself, Lynne Franks, Dwina Gibb
and Alison
Manning of the Andrew Cohen organisation as
co-hosts. The BKs want to bring together women
leaders for a weekend of personal renewal,
connection and discussion about our roles in
changing the world. There MAY be a few places still
available. If this weekend is of interest to you
then you can apply to see if a place is left. Don't
be disappointed if all the
places have gone as I know that the organisers
will want to create other events in the future
which you can take part in.

Launch of Women's Rights & Empowerment Network
an invitation from Cherie Booth QC for Monday 19 September
My friend Julia Hausermann OBE, President of Rights
& Humanity, is sponsoring the launch of a new global
network to champion the rights of women. Cherie
Booth has issued an invitation to join her a
full-day workshop and Gala dinner in London . As Cherie
says: "All the evidence shows that empowering and
investing in women brings huge development
dividends". This is an opportunity for those of us
who have advantages to help those who don't. 2.8
billion people live in poverty in the world today
and women are TWICE as likely as men to be poor. I
intend to take part, I hope to see some of you there
too if you can make it.

Meet Dadi Janki
another opportunity to spend time with this great leader
In May of this year I organised an event for women
to come together and spend time at the Brahma
Kumaris World Spiritual University UK HQ and to meet
the organisation's joint head Dadi Janki. There were
200 women in the room and it was truly an
inspirational day. From the feedback I have had I
know many lives have been changed since that event
when we got the opportunity to spend time with Dadi
Janki, a great spiritual mentor.
I know many of those who came want to meet her
again and also to bring friends. Even though Dadi
will celebrate her 90th birthday next year she
barely has space in her diary even for an hour's
gathering. My positive expectation has paid off and
a cancelled
trip means there is now suddenly ONE afternoon that
can be made
available for a special women's gathering: Tuesday
afternoon November 8th 2-7pm. Are you interested?
If anyone would like to help me shape the programme
please come forward - email me.

Gina Lazenby
My personal passions are about being well, living in
a healthy environment, helping others to change
their lives and connecting with women. The work I do
as an author, speaker, coach, networker, event
creator and promoter of life-changing wellness
products enables me to live my purpose every day and
I feel truly blessed. That's why I love to share my
home with others, be open to learning and share the
insights and tools that have made a difference to
me. Home is very important to me and I love to
bring a sacred quality to where I live and where I
work. I have particularly enjoyed my friendship with
the Brahma Kumaris and have learnt much that
sustains me daily. I do hope you want to stay in
touch with me through my newsletters and
website. Maybe there is an event that you would
like to come to some time.
